Students Have Created Bike That Can Not Be Stolen

Three student engineers from the University of Chile Adolfo Ibanez created a bike that cannot be stolen. Their project Yerka solves a very common problem and can make a significant contribution to the bicycle industry.

The idea behind Yerka simple. Bicycle frame is parsed and converted to his own castle the middle part of the frame is divided and connected with a removable seat, all she needed it any post to which it may be attached. But unlike conventional locks it is fully protected against theft, because the only way to steal a bike it break his frame, but it defeats the purpose of the whole venture.
Resale price of a stolen bicycle is not great compared to other popular objects of theft such as laptops, jewelry, and cars. However, bicycles are stolen constantly and massively the reason is simple: it's easy.
In 2012, journalist of New York Times took the video as he steals his own bike to evaluate the response of witnesses. No one paid him any attention. In total, it took him a minute to really steal the bike using bolt cutters, but he handled the instrument in the middle of New York's Union Square for 9 minutes before police around began to show interest in his actions.
But fortunately for all, a Chilean student was the victim of theft of his bicycle as much as two times and that was two times more than he was willing to endure. So he and his friends decided to take matters into their own hands. Now this is a widespread crime may go down in history thanks to the work of André Roy, Cristobal Cabello and Juan Jose.
