The fact is that in the field of the football stadium, built in the favela (slum) Morro de Mineiro, is built from two panels of Pavegen, which convert the kinetic energy of the young players in the electricity for the operation of this object in the dark. Running through the field children themselves produce energy for lighting stadium. However, this is not the only source of electricity next to the playground set and a few solar panels connected to batteries.

This stadium was built and commissioned by Royal Dutch Shell, which has recently been implementing several charitable projects around the world aimed at the development of alternative energy and infrastructure in poor countries and regions. A construction supervisor, in this case, was the legendary Brazilian footballer Pele.

Participate in the project and British company Pavegen. It is engaged in the development and creation of special panels to convert the kinetic energy into electricity. Its products have been actively used in airports, train stations and shopping malls around the world. Now one such battery costs $ 500, but the prices are constantly falling with the evolution of technology and the start of mass production of modules.
